To be well aware of the philosophy of the institution, its vision and its structure through reading materials and meeting participation.
Be inspired, be motivated through this vision of development to help Haiti.
Take part actively in one of the 12 support committees.
Do work of public relation to mobilize and recruit new members in the organization. To be in possession of related documents such as newspaper articles, pamphlets, pictures and videos etc. Intervene in radio programs to encourage more community involvement.
Organize and participate in fund raising activities in view of budget preparation for the following year.
Main office will facilitate interaction between the Diaspora Board and the one in Haiti.
Rights of Directors
Right to be informed about the different activities of the institution, to read reports and review e-mails.
Right to participate in the decision making process of the institution.
Right to visit the areas of intervention to make sure projects are being executed as planned.
Right to participate in action plan elaboration and budget preparation.
Right to be the first ones to be informed about employment opportunities in the institution and to be hired if qualified.
Meetings
Regular: A Board meeting will be held every quarter (dates to be set by main office)
Emergency: The main office will call upon the directors for any extraordinary meeting in case of some urgency.
The Board members are encouraged to participate in any activity sponsored by the organization.
Donations
Besides the yearly membership due, the board members are encouraged to give a free will contribution at every quarterly meeting.
